Ellie Eshleman is the recipient of the Dr. Mary Elizabeth Dixon Legacy Loan. Ellie graduated from Ephrata High School in 2025. She is attending Houghton University, majoring in environmental science. During high school, Ellie was involved in National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Society, peer tutoring club, and youth group. She enjoys learning, which helped her graduate with honors. Ellie’s goal is to use her degree to pursue a career in science so she can impact our future society.

#SuccessStory: "I graduated from the summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Ancient History and Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures. Currently, I'm pursuing a MPhil in Archaeological Science at the University of Cambridge as a Thouron Scholar and hope to complete my PhD in Archaeology there as well. What I enjoy most about where I am right now is being able to use my degree to explore new places, such as digging in Armenia or furthering my education in England." ~Sarah H. Elizabeth Pursel is the recipient of The Estate of Paul and Genevieve Diller Legacy Loan. Elizabeth graduated from Penn Manor High School in 2024. She is attending Penn State University majoring in advertising and public relations. In high school Elizabeth was involved in marching band, theater, Chess Club & Team, and Quiz Bowl. She also took dance classes from ages 3 to 13 which helped her flexibility in both mind and body. Elizabeth’s best personal trait is her ability to adapt to any situation and find the best solution. Her life goal is to be an influencing force to create a more honest and open advertising world.

LDHL is honored to have positively impacted the lives of our Lancaster County students by supporting their post-secondary educational goals. Since 1961, we have provided more than $21 million in interest-free loans!

#SummerExperience: "I had a full-time internship, which was challenging to balance alongside social activities and staying active! I would recommend trying to get some form of career experience before graduating in order to rule out what you are and aren't looking for in a job. I also met a lot of people who have industry experience, which will be great when I am looking to get a job post-grad!" ~Lauren L. (William & Mary University)

Jacob Spade is the recipient of the Irel Buckwalter Legacy Loan. Jacob graduated from Warwick High School in 2025. He is attending Lancaster Bible College, majoring in business administration. During high school, Jacob was involved in basketball, Link Crew, National Business Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, and volunteered at Sunday school. He went on a mission trip to Kentucky and enjoys working with kids. He will play basketball at LBC. Jacob hopes to use his degree to lead to a good job so he can support his family and help others.
