To celebrate LDHL’s 65th anniversary, we’re sharing something truly special—65 stories from current students, alumni, and past loan recipients whose lives have been shaped by interest-free student loans. Join us in helping to keep our streets beautiful! We'll meet in front of Liberty Place to clean the sidewalk areas on Liberty Street between Harrisburg Pike and Queen Street. Gloves and bags are available. Since 1961, LDHL has invested over $21 million in Lancaster County students through interest-free loans—opening doors, easing financial burdens, and strengthening our community for generations. 💙 Connor Box is the recipient of the Reyna ITS Legacy Loan. Connor graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School in 2024. He is attending Penn State University, majoring in data science. During high school Connor was involved in soccer, chess team, Works of Mercy Camp, and was the tennis team captain. He was also a helper at Aaron’s Acres. Connor’s best personal trait is the ability to remain calm in tough situations, allowing him to think clearly. His sister just graduated from the special needs program in Hempfield and part of his life goal is to ensure his sister’s well-being and happiness. After college, Connor hopes to find a career he enjoys and is able to financially support himself and eventually others. #ThankyouThursday: "I am deeply thankful for the opportunity you’ve given me. LDHL is not just helping students pay for school—you are helping us step into our futures with confidence and hope. I am incredibly grateful for the support that Lancaster Dollars for Higher Learning (LDHL) has provided throughout my journey." ~Jaslexis M (Penn State University) #SuccessStory: "I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2019. After graduating, I moved to Lexington, KY, to complete the required nutrition internship before becoming a Registered Dietitian in 2020. I then began my career as a clinical dietitian at York Hospital, where I cared for some of the sickest hospitalized patients. My work includes managing tube feedings, supporting malnourished patients in their recovery, and spending time in the NICU working with our smallest and most vulnerable patients. I also completed my Master’s degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Alabama. I now live in Chicago, where I have continued working as a clinical dietitian and pursuing ongoing education in my field. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how the foundation I built during college continues to shape my career and growth. In my career, I have found great joy in supporting patients and positively influencing their long-term health trajectory." ~Trisha B. (University of Pittsburgh)
